New Dragon Boat Paddling Centre set to open this weekend

Due to the increasing popularity of dragon boating in Vancouver, a new home was needed for the sport.  Fast + Epp collaborated with McFarland Marceau Architects to design the new non-motorized paddling centre constructed at False Creek, which opens April 30. The structure consists of 6 small storage buildings, 6 floating docks, and two entry/exit ramps. Inspired by floating lanterns, the facility was constructed of semi-translucent panels and cube structures.
