In 2024, the Tetra One was launched by Polyhaus – a design and building technology company offering volume-maximizing, rapid-assembly, sustainable housing models.

Currently available in the state of California, this model utilizes a maximum amount of living space within a minimal ground footprint.

Many efficiencies have been incorporated into the design, from the prefabricated and CNC’d mass timber pieces – which can be assembled in only a few days thus reducing overall construction time – to the maximized volume from the geometric truncated polyhedron. ⁠

To reduce carbon footprint, parametric modelling was used to find the optimal form and reduce waste of the cross-laminated timber (CLT) walls, floors, and roof.

Vaagen Timbers was partnered with for the supply and fabrication of the cross-laminated timber panels.
