Located along the campus’ old trolley route, these two iconic bus shelters feature a glulam lattice structure with steel dowel connectors at each intersection and concrete foundations. Built primarily of glass, steel and wood, these structures were designed as a visual extention of the university’s katsura trees and have transformed the area into an inviting public space with wide benches for students and commuters.
