William Loasby

William joined Fast + Epp in 2015 with more than a decade of international experience from firms in the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Australia, and Canada. He has completed several high-profile cultural, residential, and recreational projects in collaboration with architects such as Herzog & de Meuron and Gehry Partners.

William is a skilled teacher and peer mentor – a gift that has proved invaluable in our office. Prior to joining Fast + Epp, he worked for six years at the Hong Kong office of Arup and lectured part-time at the University of Macau, teaching Analysis of Structures and Design of Building Structures courses to undergraduate architects.

Given William’s extensive project experience and strong academic background, he is fully conversant in all major building materials. In 2013, he was awarded the Innovation Award Grand Prize in Hong Kong for his adaptive re-use of historical building structures.

William has a Master’s degree in engineering science from Oxford University and a Master’s degree in structural engineering from The University of Hong Kong.

He is a chartered structural and civil engineer in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong, and is a registered professional engineer in Canada.
